Three Bands
The Bockenem ensemble 2People as guests of the singing TUC Vocals Rock, Pop & Jazz Choir and the grooving TUC Big Band
Under the motto ‘Three bands in the hall’, the Clausthal ‘TUCs’ invite you to another concert
The two well-known TU Clausthal jazz formations will be playing from their current programme on 9 November at 7.30 pm in the Deutsches Haus hotel. This will be the second concert outside the university and mining town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld this winter semester.
A concert with three bands, once again very ‘old school’ in the hall, that would be something,’ thought the Clausthalers, who last year had already extended their traditional end-of-semester concerts on Saturday in the Clausthal Aula Academica to include an additional concert on Sunday on the Goslar energy campus. This year also saw the Whitsun concert in Steinwaypark in Seesen, participation in the 3rd Clausthal Blues Night and the jazz workshop with Monika Roscher, winner of the German Jazz Prize.
The Deutsches Haus has been an established name in the music world for over 100 years. It was therefore quickly decided that a third band should be invited, which also comes from the region and can look back on a long band history.
The band 2People, led by Rainer Gaus from Bockenem, was founded in 2000 and performs unplugged with their own lyrics in German. Gaus, who is certainly known to Badenhausen residents from the band Dustpipe and their tribute to Status Quo cover show, has been touring the region and beyond for over 30 years. After CD releases in 2009 and 2015, 2People suffered two heavy blows of fate and reformed in 2024.
Three bands - three unique sets! Numerous in-house productions characterise the work of all three formations. In Badenhausen, the singingTUC choir sings songs such as ‘Lieblingsmensch’ by Namika and ‘Willst Du’ by Schandmaul, both arranged by their choirmaster André Wenauer. The groovingTUC Big Band's programme includes ‘Hello’ in the version by Adam Neely, their bandleader Domenic Eggers' own arrangements and other special vocal, jazz and bebop numbers.
As always, admission is free. However, the ensembles ask for a donation to support their musical work. If you are interested in making music with the choir or big band, please get in touch by e-mail (popchor@tu-clausthal.de or bigband@tu-clausthal.de). We look forward to seeing you!
The concert is sponsored by the Regionalverband Harz e.V. with funds from the state of Lower Saxony
